Xitlalli supports the Community Building Team through community engagement and outreach initiatives that connect more people to the policy process across North Carolina. She assists with programs such as the Summer Policy Institute and contributes to projects that strengthen relationships and community connections across North Carolina.
In addition to her work at the Budget & Tax Center, Xitlalli serves as an intern with the Latino Alliance of Southeastern NC, supporting community outreach and resource-sharing efforts. She has also participated in several North Carolina-based civic engagement programs, including the Latino Electoral Engagement Fellowship, You Can Vote Fellowship, and the LatinxEd Fellowship. Through these experiences, she developed a deeper understanding of how public policies affect communities and the importance of civic engagement, advocacy, and community-centered solutions.
Born and raised in Wilmington, NC, Xitlalli is a first-generation Mexican American college student pursuing degrees in Computer Science and Public Policy at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She is passionate about community advocacy, language access, and using technology and policy to create positive change. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering, spending time at the beach, and attending church.
